Welcome to Iakobou (ἸΑΚΩΒΟΥ).
Allow me to introduce myself. I am James Gregory, graduate of Simpson University (BA Bible & Theology, emphasis in New Testament) and Fuller Theological Seminary (MA Theology, emphasis in Biblical Studies). I taught beginning Greek at Fuller in Sacramento for 3 quarters in 2010-2011. I have a passion for translating the Bible while incorporating historical-cultural contexts and theological application. I have a desire to equip Christians with the ability to study Scripture in the original languages. This blog blends both my passion and my desire. I am setting forth to explicate Scripture based on the original languages, and I hope to spark interest in the study through Greek and Hebrew in other Christians.
I am first and foremost a Christian, but I am also a husband and a father; additionally, I am a former musician, and I am recently turning into an audiophile. My other interests include, but are not limited to, Mustangs, metal, Batman, Halo, and football, namely Chelsea, Inter Milan, and Real Madrid. Social Media certainly will expound upon my interests, so please follow me for more details.
Join with me as I read, mark, learn, and inwardly digest the holy Scriptures. Subscribe for daily Scripture reading, fresh contents weekly each Thursday, or streaming Saturdays with sermons, lectures, or classes.
If you would like to request to include quotes of my material, whether my blog posts, social network contents, or my hardcopy or softcopy books, please tweet me: @jgelements.
