Chelsea 4-1 Norwich

It looked dyer from the outset, but the Blues quickly turned it around and dominated the end result, beating Norwich 4-1 courtesy of Torres, Lampard, Hazard, and Ivanovich, respectively. Mata proved crucial in distribution.

Go Blues!

Chelsea 4-2 Reading

CFC Match Report | WAGNH Opinion

Chelsea won another 3 points in yesterday’s match at home against Reading.

Things looked great at first, but half way through the first half, things looked bleak.

We took the lead thanks again to some close quarter dribbling by Hazard, or what I like to call “magic,” which led to Lampard’s second goal of the season when he pounded home his second PK. But then Cech got beat on a very well placed Pog header and then flubbed on a basic and routine free kick. We were losing 1-2 at the half. But the champions that we are saw to it that we came out with a vengeance, punishing Reading three times to keep the spoils to ourselves. We really turned it around.

Things are looking good, but we definitely have some work to do. It’s early in the season, so I am excited about what is to come!

Chelsea 2-0 Wigan

Chelsea FC Match Report | We Aint Got No History Game Thread

Five thirty in the freaking morning came way too early, not least for entertainment purposes. To watch football this early is more like letting one eyelid rest while the other works to remain open, one eye fixed on the TV while the other wearily relaxes. It’s times like this I wish I lived in Europe or even the East Coast for that matter. But I digress.

Two goals in the first 6 minutes of the game–defining. Ivanovich both started and finished the counter with some direction from Hazard. The latter drove into the box minutes later and earned a spot kick that Lampard converted. Game over. Chelsea took their foot off the gas at this point and coasted through the end of the game. Torres had a good opportunity around the 60th minute, but Wigan cleared it off the line at the last possible second. Still, Torres had a decent shift despite having nothing to show for it.

The whole team looked quite solid. Patient, reserved, calm, cool, and collective, from defense to offense, it was a good away result, fulfilling the ideal start to the new BPL season.

Chelsea 2-1 Wigan

Watching this game, you would not know that Chelsea were at The Bridge. You would not have known that Chelsea are in the top half of the table while Wigan is fighting to get out of the relegation zone. Wigan did really well today. Chelsea’s first goal came as a result of offside. Wigan’s equalizer was simply stunning. Then, in injury time, Drogba lobbed in a cross to Torres who beautifully struck it far post on the full volley only to strike the post. However, a pouncing Mata redirected it back into the goal and over the line. Game over.

Glad to see the Blues win. Sad to see it in this fashion. Let’s not make it a habit, shall we?

Ivanovich–hats off to you, mate. Seriously, this has been one string of games for you. Keep it up. Player of the month for March to be sure, and, at this rate, maybe even for April.

Chelsea 2-2 Newcastle

Well, we lost the opportunity to win league last week, and this week it showed that the wind was taken out of our sails. We scored twice, but we were scored on equally and at Stamford Bridge no less. Whiskey tango foxtrot? Kudos for our defensive line capitalizing and scoring 2 goals, but shame on them for not locking down our own.
