Psalm 119:153-160

Psalm 119:153-160 all begin with resh (ר).

Look at my afflictions and rescue me
for I do not forget your laws.

Plead my legal cause and redeem me
let me live in your word.

Salvation is far from the wicked
for they do not seek your statutes.

Your mercy is great, oh Lord
let me live according to your justice.

Many are my persecutors and my adversaries
I have not stretched from your decrees.

I saw the treacherous ones and felt disgust
because they do not keep your word.

See that I love your precepts
Lord, let me live according to your steadfast love.

The sum of your word is truth
and every one of your righteous judgments is forever.


Psalm 119:145-152

All of these verses begin with qof (ק).

I have called out with my whole heart; answer me, Lord, that I may keep your statutes!

I have called you; save me,
so that I may keep your decrees!

I have anticipated in the morning and called for help
I have waited for your words.

My eyes have anticipated the night watches
in order that I may meditate on your words.

Hear my voice according to your lovingkindness
Lord, let me live according to your judgments.

Pursuers of wickedness draw near
they have held themselves distant from your law.

You are near, Oh Lord
and all your commandments are truth.

Earlier I learned from your decrees
because you established them forever.

Psalm 119:137-144

Just are you, Lord
And right are your judgments.

You have commanded your decrees in justice
And in great faithfulness.

My zeal has silenced me
For my enemies have forgot your words.

Exceedingly refined is your word and your servant has loved it.

I am small and despicable

Your justice is right forever
And your law is truth.

Anxiety and distress have found me
Your commandments are my delight.

Your decrees are right forever
Give me understanding so that I may live.

Psalm 119:129-136

Your decrees are miracles
Therefore, my soul keeps them.

The statement of your words give light, giving understanding to the simple.

I opened my mouth and I panted
For I longed for your commandments.

Turn to me and show favor on me
As is customary to those who love your name.

Make my steps firm in your word
And let no iniquity gain power over me.

Redeem me from human oppression
That I may keep your precepts.

Make your face shine on your servant
And teach me your statutes.

My eyes melt in streams of water
Because your laws are not kept.

Psalm 119:121-128

All of these verses begin with ayin (ע).

I have made fair decisions
Do not leave me behind to my oppressors.

Support your servant for good
Do not let the proud oppress me.

My eyes pine for your salvation
And for your righteous word.

Do with your servant in accordance with your lovingkindness and teach me your statutes.

I am your servant, give me understanding
In order that I will know your decrees.

It is time to intervene for the Lord
They have broken your law.

Therefore, I have loved your commandments
More than gold, and more than refined gold.

Therefore, I have carefully observed all precepts of everything
I have hated every false path.

Psalm 119:113-120

All of these verses begin with samek (ס).

I have hated the disunited
But I have loved your law.

You are my refuge and my shield
I have waited for your word.

Turn away from me, evildoers,
So that I may keep the commandments of my God.

Sustain me according to your word, so that I may live
And do not let me be put to shame in my hope.

Sustain me, so that I may receive help,
So that I may gaze on your statutes continually.

You reject all who stray from your statutes
For a breach of faith is their deceit.

Dross you have removed, all of the wicked ones of the earth
Therefore, I have loved your decrees.

My flesh has goosebumps from trembling
And I am afraid of your judgments.

Psalm 119:105-112

Your word is a lamp to my feet
And a light to my path.

I have sworn and I have made it valid
To keep your righteous judgments.

I have been humbled exceedingly
Lord, let me live according to your word.

May you take pleasure in the voluntary offering of my mouth, Lord
And teach me your judgments.

My life is in my hand continually
But I do not forget your law.

The wicked have set a trap for me
But I do not wander from your precepts.

I have inherited your decrees forever
For they are the joy of my heart.

I have inclined my heart to do your statutes forever unto the end.

Psalm 119:97-104

How very much I love your law!
All day it is my meditation.

Your commandment makes me wiser than my enemies
For eternally it is with me.

I have insight more than all my teachers
For your decrees are meditation to me.

I behave more intelligently than elders
For I keep your precepts.

From every evil way I have restrained my feet
In order that I will keep your word.

I have not turned aside from your judgments
For you teach me.

How smooth are your words to my palate more than honey to my mouth!

I behave intelligently because of your precepts
Therefore, I have hated every way of falsehood.

Psalm 119:89-96

All of these verses begin with the Hebrew letter lamed (ל).

Forever, Oh Lord,
your word is placed in the heavens.

From generation to generation is your faithfulness
You have established the land and it stands firm.

By your judgments they stand today
For all are your servants.

If your law was not my delight,
Then I would perish in my affliction.

I will not forget your precepts forever
For by them you have let me live.

I belong to you; save me!
For I have sought your precepts.

The wicked wait for me in order to destroy me
I will direct my attention to your decrees.

I have seen an end to all perfection
Your commandment is exceedingly far-reaching.

Psalm 119:81-88

These verses all start with kaf (כ).

My soul languishes for your salvation
I wait for your word.

My eyes languish for your word
I ask, “When will you comfort me?”

For I have become a leather flue in smoke
I have not forgotten your statutes.

How many are the days of your servant?
When will you carry out judgment on those who pursue me?

The proud have dug pits for me
Which are not according to your law.

All your commandments are faithfulness
They pursue me falsely; help me!

For they nearly destroyed me in the land
But I did not forsake your precepts.

Let me live according to your love
In order that I may keep the decrees of your mouth.
