Club History: Real Madrid

Real Madrid is a very popular club worldwide. Their website doesn’t have a decent history page, however. You can find a list of all earned trophies on their site right here. Los Blancos have won La Liga 31 times, the Copa del Rey 18 times, the European Cup 9 times, the European Super Cup once, the UEFA Cup twice, the League Cup once, the Spanish Super Cup 8 times, the Intercontinental Cup 3 times, the Latin Cup twice, the Small World Cup twice, the Mancomunado Trophy 5 times, and the Regional Championship 18 times. In all, that’s 100 trophies! For a good history of the club, see Wikipedia’s History of Real Madrid C.F.. The team’s history stems back to 1895 when the Football Sky club was formed. Five years later, the club split into two different teams: New Football de Madrid and Club Español de Madrid. The latter team split two years later, resulting in a new team: Sociedad Madrid FC. In 1920, the King of Spain added Real to the club’s name, thus renaming them Real Madrid FC.
