Chelsea 0-2 Everton

MATCH REPORT: EVERTON 2 CHELSEA 0 | Latest Chelsea News | Team & Transfer News | Chelsea FC | Chelsea.

Abysmally dismal performance from Chelsea today away in a 2-nil loss to Everton. I have nothing good to say about this game. Clearly we lacked a hunger for a clean sheet. Clearly we lacked a desire to score goals. We played half-heartedly. We made poor decisions. Why Mata would be subbed off with 20 minutes left to bring on Lukaku is beyond me. The only positive that I can take from this game: Bertrand came on when Cole left injured. However, he still played somewhat reserved, and I would have liked to see his skill and energy applied more charismatically. As for Bosingwa, I am utterly convinced he should not be crossing the ball early and should always get into the bi line for a cut back only. He has shown no quality crosses; it is a waste. But it isn’t helpful that we aren’t pressing the box in anticipation of a cross anyway. Ultimately, our performance as a team was sub-par, and we didn’t deserve even to draw.
