I just finished A Christmas Carol, by Charles Dickens. Since it is Christmas time, I felt it right to read this classic. The last three chapters were the best. It was in the second spirit stave, I think, that Scrooge’s heart began to change, and the development from there was engrossing.
The book makes a great point: Christian living is about compassion and generosity where able. This generosity is not but once a year; it is a lifestyle that carries about all year long. Christmas is a reminder and a celebration of such compassion, and it ought to be a wakeup call for any scrooges in this world.
