Nice to see that we got the clean sheet while away, and also found the net 3 times. We should have had more, but, to be fair, Newcastle hit the woodwork multiple times.
Funny that we would get 3-nil away to Newcastle, a loose title contender, but only 3-nil home hosting Wolves, a relegation defender. Well, that’s not funny; that’s sad.
My man of the match is Sturridge. He created lots of opportunities on goal and was entertaining, plus he helped out in our defensive third. Yes, he failed to score on those numerous occasions, but to me he was great and did get a goal to show for it.
This last goal of the game puts Sturridge in the lead for top scorer over Lampard. Sturridge now has 8 goals. Lampard had the opportunity to get his 8th of the season in all competitions, but he failed to convert the penalty that Sturridge won for him.
