Los Blancos, wearing their third jersey away at Valencia, took all three points in a 3-2 win. Benzema scored first, and it was a beautiful goal in which he trapped and controlled the ball from up high in one right foot touch and then on the half volley struck it with the left foot into the back of the net. Ramos scored his first goal of this season’s La Liga off of a corner kick that he headed downward to the far post. Finally, Ronaldo scored the third goal after beating the keeper to the ball towards the edge of the 18 and then sliding it on in from a very acute angle. We nearly didn’t get the win, but with Ronaldo’s goal, we took a two goal lead only for Valencia to pull one back fairly quickly. Fortunately, Valencia could not muster a final answer, and Real Madrid walked away with the win.

Controversially, in the added time, on the second to last play of the game, a Valencia free kick set piece, one of Los Blancos was on the ground when the ball hit either his side, his chest, or his arm. Valencia petitioned heavily to the referee, saying that it was a hand ball, but the referee would not hear it.
